According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Sakarya, which ranks fourth in automotive industry exports after Kocaeli, Bursa and Istanbul, made exports of 1 billion 818 million 171 thousand dollars in the January-May period.
According to the information compiled from the Automotive Industry Association data, 378 thousand 974 of the 547 thousand 115 vehicles produced throughout Türkiye in the first 5 months were sent abroad.
From Sakarya, which has a 15.85 percent share in exports in terms of units, 60 thousand 73 of the 94 thousand 633 vehicles produced in the first 5 months of the year, corresponding to 63 percent, were sold abroad.
In Sakarya, where 6 out of every 10 vehicles produced are exported, production in terms of units decreased by 4 thousand 876 in January-May compared to the same period of the previous year, while exports increased by 608.
In Sakarya, which hosts manufacturers such as Toyota, Otokar and TürkTraktör, 94 thousand 633 vehicles consisting of 84 thousand 234 cars, 949 midibuses, 648 buses, 579 small trucks, 4 pickup trucks and 8 thousand 219 tractors were produced in the first 5 months of the year. 627 vehicles were taken off the line daily in the city.
During this period, Toyota maintained its leadership in production and exports, while TürkTraktör came second and Otokar came third.
Toyota sold 54 thousand 287 of the 84 thousand 234 vehicles it took off the line in its factory located in Arifiye district abroad.
Otokar, one of the leading companies in Türkiye’s defense industry, produced 2,180 vehicles, including buses, midibuses, small trucks and pickup trucks, and exported 705 of them.
TürkTraktör, which produced 8 thousand 219 tractors in the same period, contributed to the country’s economy by exporting 5 thousand 81 of them.
