The accident occurred on Saturday evening. Misadventure for Andrea Kimi Antonelli a few days after the first winter testing session in Bahrain. The Mercedes driver was involved in a road accident over the weekend, Antonelli’s car was the only one involved in the accident and there were no consequences for the Italian driver. “We can confirm that Kimi was involved in a car accident on Saturday evening near his home in San Marino – the note released by Mercedes – the police intervened on the scene after being called by Kimi. His was the only car involved and, although the vehicle sustained damage, Kimi remained completely unharmed.” Antonelli will be regularly on track in Bahrain for the tests scheduled from tomorrow to Friday (tomorrow he will be behind the wheel of the W17 in the afternoon session), then from 18 to 20 February there will be the second and final session in Sakhir before the seasonal debut scheduled in Melbourne from 6 to 8 March.
