Vehicle simulation tools are advancing faster than the physical prototypes they aim to reduce, narrowing the gap further VI-grade has released version 2026.2 of its simulation software suite with updates covering vehicle dynamics, drive-in-the-loop testing, noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) analysis, and virtual scenario development. The update covers four products: VI-CarRealTime, VI-DriveSim, VI-NVHSim and VI-WorldSim. VI-CarRealTime gains a thermal braking model that covers brake temperature and friction behavior, as well as brake pedal force modeling for driver realism. Functional model unit support has also been expanded with additional improvements to suspension compliance modeling and actuator functionality. VI-DriveSim adds FIR filters for real-time fine-tuning and tighter integration with VI-WorldSim. Web-based session reporting, revised project management tools, and new dashboard layouts are also included. VI-NVHSim provides a Target Analyzer for record comparison, verification and status reporting. The release adds Audiokinetic Wwise Automotive sound design support, enhanced Harman Halosonic integration, and advanced data preparation features including order validation and RPM auto-tracking. VI-WorldSim has been upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.7.4 for improved rendering quality. The new Event Manager enables flexible scenario scripting with further updates that include higher fidelity traffic simulation, advanced sensor orchestration, and compatibility with the latest RoadRunner release.
