Automotive Industry Association (OSD) announced the data for 2025. Total production, which increased by 4 percent compared to 2024, was 1 million 419 thousand 464 units. Automobile production decreased by 4 percent compared to 2024, reaching 872 thousand 538 units. Total production, including tractor production, was 1 million 445 thousand 921 units. In the commercial vehicle group, production increased by 19 percent in 2025, by 21 percent in the light commercial vehicle group, and by 1 percent in the heavy commercial vehicle group. While the commercial vehicle market increased by 8 percent and the light commercial vehicle market increased by 10 percent compared to 2024, the heavy commercial vehicle market decreased by 4 percent. In 2025, total automotive exports increased by 4 percent in terms of units compared to the previous year, while automobile exports decreased by 8 percent. During this period, total exports were 1 million 57 thousand 920 units, and automobile exports were 599 thousand 687 units. In 2025, the total market closed at 1 million 413 thousand 903 units, increasing by 10 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. During this period, the automobile market also increased by 11 percent and reached 1 million 84 thousand 496 units.
Automotive Industry Association (OSD), which is the umbrella organization of the sector with its 13 members guiding the Turkish automotive industry, announced the production and export figures and market data for 2025. Accordingly, total automotive production in 2025 increased by 4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 1 million 419 thousand 464 units. Automobile production decreased by 4 percent to 872 thousand 539 units. Including tractor production, total production reached 1 million 445 thousand 921 units. In 2025, production in the commercial vehicle group increased by 19 percent compared to the previous year, by 21 percent in the light commercial vehicle group, and by 1 percent in the heavy commercial vehicle group. During this period, the capacity utilization rate of the automotive industry was 67 percent. Capacity utilization rates on a vehicle group basis were 68 percent in light vehicles (cars + light commercial vehicles), 57 percent in the truck group, 68 percent in the bus-midibus group and 35 percent in the tractor.
Exports in 2025 reached 41.5 billion dollars!
In 2025, automotive exports increased by 4 percent in terms of units compared to the previous year, reaching 1 million 57 thousand 920 units. During this period, automobile exports decreased by 8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while commercial vehicle exports increased by 28 percent. Tractor exports decreased by 13 percent compared to 2024, reaching 11 thousand 261 units. According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, total automotive industry exports completed 2025 as the leader in the sectoral export rankings with a share of 17.6 percent. According to Uludağ Exporters’ Association (UIB) data, total automotive exports in 2025 will be 41.5 billion dollars. In the same period, automobile exports increased by 4 percent and reached 11.8 billion dollars. During this period, main industry exports increased by 15 percent and supply industry exports increased by 6 percent in dollar terms.
Domestic market increased by 10 percent!
In 2025, the total market increased by 10 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 1 million 413 thousand 903 units. During this period, the automobile market also increased by 11 percent and reached 1 million 84 thousand 496 units. In 2025, while the total commercial vehicle market grew by 8 percent and the light commercial vehicle market grew by 10 percent compared to the previous year, there was a 4 percent decline in the heavy commercial vehicle market. In the January-December period of 2025, the share of domestic vehicles in automobile sales was 30 percent, and the share of domestic vehicles in the light commercial vehicle market was 22 percent.
