Ram has unveiled the 2027 2500 Emergency Response Vehicle, the first heavy-duty truck capable of participating in police pursuits. This model is designed for law enforcement, rescue services, and government agencies.The vehicle successfully completed testing with the Michigan State Police, including acceleration and handling evaluations. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 8.41 seconds, reaches 80 mph in 13.22 seconds, and hits 100 mph in 20.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 103 mph.Under the hood, a 6.4-liter V8 engine delivers 405 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. The truck features an eight-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case. It also comes with a reinforced suspension, underbody protection, and steel wheels for rugged conditions. Two 400-amp alternators and a module for connecting additional equipment are included as well.The Ram 2500 ERV will enter the military and special services vehicle segment, offering a blend of high payload capacity and performance. Deliveries are set to begin in the second half of 2026, though pricing details have not been disclosed.
