Otokar delivered the first 10 vehicles after winning the tender for 37 garbage vehicles of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of North Macedonia with its Macedonian distributor Sinpeks. The project in question has the distinction of being the largest sales project made abroad at once for Atlas, the only light tonnage truck produced in Türkiye and exported to Europe.
Otokar, a Koç Group company, continues to strengthen its presence in the Balkans geography in line with its growth targets in global markets. Otokar, which won the tender for 37 vehicles opened by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of North Macedonia to be used within the scope of the project aiming to strengthen municipal capacities in waste collection, with its Macedonian distributor Sinpeks, delivered the first 10 vehicles with a ceremony. The vehicles, which were put into service at a ceremony attended by the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Hristijan Mickoski, the Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Izet Mexhiti and the mayors of 18 municipalities, will operate in 9 different cities of the country.
IMPORTANT THRESHOLD FOR EUROPEAN JOURNEY
Atlas, produced in Otokar’s Sakarya Arifiye factory, offers operational efficiency in public services with its power, flexible structure and high load carrying capacity. The North Macedonia sale of Atlas, which has the title of being the only light truck produced in Türkiye and exported to the European market, is the largest sales project of the vehicle abroad in one go. The delivery of the remaining 27 Otokar Atlas vehicles, which have a special superstructure to be used as garbage vehicles, is aimed to be completed by May 2026.
