Green Crescent World Snowmobile Championship will be held in Rize
After Rize Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş declared 2026 as the “Year of Independence and Green Crescent” throughout Rize, an important international organization is being held to combat addiction and raise awareness of healthy living. In this context, the “Green Crescent World Snowmobile Championship” will be held in Güneysu Handüzü Plateau on 3-4 February 2026, hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Rize Governorship, Green Crescent and Turkish Motorcycle Federation.

The championship, which will be held with the slogan “Sports Protects from Addictions”, aims to direct young people to sports and encourage them to acquire healthy living habits.
Commenting on the issue, Rize Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş pointed out that the fight against addiction is not only a public duty, but also a social and humanitarian responsibility. Governor Baydaş said, “Introducing our young people to sports, arts and social activities is the most powerful way to keep them away from all kinds of bad habits and addictions. We will not only continue our work in these areas, but also increase our capacity and continue with full determination.”
The championship, which will be held in Rize’s 1,800-altitude Handüzü Plateau, which stands out with its natural beauties, aims to raise awareness about the fight against addiction and contribute to the city’s Sports Tourism.
“All sports fans are invited to the Green Crescent World Snowmobile Championship, which will be held on 3-4 February, with the slogan “Sports Protects from Addictions”.
