London, England – The all-new Nissan LEAF won the prestigious Editor’s Choice Award at this year’s Autotrader Drivers’ Choice Awards.
The Editor’s Choice Award celebrates the model that stood out among other models evaluated by Autotrader’s editorial team last year.
Erin Baker, Editorial Director of Autotrader, the UK’s largest automotive marketplace, said: “The Nissan LEAF has been at the forefront of the electric revolution for over a decade. It’s quite simply a legend and this latest version blends comfort, range and technology in a stylish package whilst also boasting tremendous sustainability credentials.
“We love the satisfying handling, smart interior design and curved touchscreen. Best of all, the new LEAF is built in Sunderland with 20 per cent renewable energy, with the rest offset. Not only does it support the British economy, it also shrinks its carbon footprint even further, making it one of the greenest cars you can buy in the UK. It’s truly a legend.”
James Taylor, Managing Director of Nissan Motor GB, said: “We would like to thank Autotrader for this important award. This marks another milestone for the New Nissan LEAF and underlines its importance in today’s electric vehicle world.”
“Our latest 100% electric model, the LEAF, brings together Nissan’s most advanced design, technology and engineering and, as the world’s first third-generation EV, builds on the LEAF’s pioneering heritage as the original mass-market electric vehicle.
“There’s real momentum across our dealer network and among our customers as excitement builds around the arrival of the new LEAF. Interest has been phenomenal and we’re excited to see the car on UK roads very soon.”
LEAF has sold more than 700,000 units worldwide since its debut in 2010. Like its predecessors, the new third-generation model is produced at Nissan’s Sunderland plant in the UK. Staying true to its innovative roots, it marks the beginning of a new chapter for the famous nameplate, which has been completely redesigned and re-engineered from the ground up to meet the needs of modern EV customers.
With a range of up to 386 miles (WLTP) and a host of advanced features such as Google built-in, blackout panoramic sunroof, 3D taillight design and flush-mounted door handles, the All-New LEAF is packed with technology. It’s available in four trim levels – Engage, Engage+, Advance and Evolve – with prices for the 75kWh model starting from £32,249 (including a £3,750 electric vehicle grant).
