The new Mercedes-Benz CLA family is expanding with the introduction of the 48-volt hybrid version, which joins the existing 100% electric variant, offering customers greater flexibility in choosing the engine. The range is made up of four trim levels: ADVANCED, ADVANCED PLUS, PREMIUM and PREMIUM PLUS, which can be customized with exclusive aesthetic lines and equipment packages. The house of the Star announces that the price lists start from 47,296 euros for the CLA 180 ADVANCED. The new hybridized engines allow short stretches in electric mode only, sailing with a decoupled engine and energy recovery in each gear, with behaviors that bring consumption and operating costs closer to the best diesel solutions in the segment. Mercedes CLA is also a 48-volt hybrid At the heart of the hybrid version is a new 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine, fully electrified, combined with an electrified eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with integrated electric motor. The 48-volt lithium-ion battery has an energy capacity of 1.3 kWh. Thanks to this architecture, hybrid models can exploit up to 22 kW in electric mode in the city, cruise up to approximately 100 km/h with the powertrain disengaged and regenerate energy up to 25 kW during braking or deceleration, optimizing consumption and emissions without compromising performance. Performance at diesel level The CLA with internal combustion engine is the most efficient model in the segment. The CLA 180, equipped with the new M 252 engine from the FAME family, achieves fuel consumption of around 5 l/100 km, thanks to the Miller combustion cycle and advanced technical solutions such as the aluminum crankcase with NANOSLIDE coating, the cylinder head with partially integrated exhaust manifold and the turbocharger with segmented turbine. The combination with electrification allows obtaining consumption values, performance and ownership costs comparable with the Star’s traditional diesels. Three power levels and two traction levels In addition to the improvements under the bonnet, the new Mercedes CLA offers a stylistic and technological evolution with more athletic proportions, front grille with central star and LED light guide. The cockpit benefits from the MB.OS operating system and the fourth generation of MBUX, with artificial intelligence developed together with Microsoft and Google. Available in three power levels and with front or 4MATIC all-wheel drive, the new hybrid version combines greater comfort, intelligence, efficiency and flexibility compared to the previous generation.
Mercedes CLA is now also a 48 volt hybrid
