Maserati MCXtrema hypercar completes production, final unit sold in US

Maserati has finished building its limited-edition MCXtrema track hypercar, with the last of 62 units delivered to a US owner. The 730 hp V6 beast is not road-legal.
Maserati has completed production of its track-only hypercar, the MCXtrema, with the 62nd and final example delivered to a customer in the United States. The car features a unique configuration and was unveiled at a private event in Tampa.The MCXtrema is not road-legal and is built exclusively for circuit use. This specific example was tailored to the owner’s requirements: the passenger seat was removed to reduce weight, and telemetry systems as well as quick pit-stop equipment were added.It is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno engine producing 730 horsepower, driving the rear wheels through a sequential racing gearbox. A carbon-fiber monocoque keeps the weight to around 1,300 kilograms. The design includes extensive aerodynamics with a diffuser, rear wing, and stabilizer, along with a fully adjustable suspension.The development process involved over 200 hours of testing, all focused on maximizing on-track performance without the constraints of road regulations. The MCXtrema is the brand’s most extreme project to date, aimed at motorsports use. Cars like this enhance Maserati’s image and showcase its technical capabilities.
