Auburn Hills, Mich. – February 5, 2026 – Maserati has secured a prestigious spot on Car and Driver’s 2026 Editors’ Choice list, with both the GranTurismo coupe and GranCabrio convertible recognized in the Luxury Sports Car segment. Widely regarded as the automotive world’s “honor roll,” this recognition reflects the Trident brand’s enduring commitment to performance, craftsmanship, and Italian elegance.
Car and Driver’s annual Editors’ Choice program celebrates vehicles that rise above their peers, based on rigorous evaluation encompassing instrumented testing, real-world driving, and assessment of key criteria such as performance, features, value, and driving enjoyment. This stamp of approval helps discerning buyers identify standout models across today’s competitive automotive landscape.
The 2026 Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio are designed to combine exhilarating sports car performance with the comfort and refinement expected of a true grand tourer. Engineered in Italy, these vehicles exemplify Maserati’s philosophy of luxury in motion. The Trofeo variants are powered by the brand’s in-house twin-turbo Nettuno V6 engine, featuring advanced pre-chamber combustion technology derived from Formula 1. A new Sports Exhaust system, standard across all internal combustion GranTurismo and GranCabrio Trofeo models, amplifies the engine’s sonorous character, giving the Trident a distinct and thrilling voice on the road.

Maserati’s Fuoriserie Program further highlights the GranTurismo and GranCabrio with two one-of-a-kind creations: the GranTurismo Meccanica Lirica One-Off and GranCabrio Meccanica Lirica One-Off. Inspired by Modena’s rich heritage, where mechanical mastery and operatic artistry intertwine, these vehicles feature bespoke exterior colors, including Rosso Velluto and Oro Lirico, unique interior finishes, and exclusive design accents—celebrating the return of GranTurismo and GranCabrio production to Maserati’s historic Modena factory.
“Maserati has a rich legacy of creating stunning and sought-after grand tourers,” said Andrea Soriani, Head of Maserati Americas. “The latest GranTurismo and GranCabrio embody the brand’s trademark Italian style, thrilling performance, and timeless sophistication. We are honored to see them recognized by Car and Driver, one of the industry’s most influential voices.”
Tracing their lineage back to the original Maserati A6 1500 grand tourer, the GranTurismo and GranCabrio continue to express unmistakable Italian flair. These models honor Maserati’s storied past while confidently charting a path for the brand’s future, reaffirming the Trident’s place at the pinnacle of luxury sports car design and engineering.
