In 2025, two of the most anticipated new arrivals for Mercedes-Benz will debut. On the racetrack, Kimi Antonelli joins the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team driver lineup to race alongside George Russell, and the all-new CLA will make its world premiere. The new star and car meet in a fun short film with the theme “Charging up for 2025.”
Before Kimi takes to the track in F1® pre-season testing, he starts the journey in the European Alps. His car, a camouflaged version of the upcoming CLA in dazzling red illuminated livery, highlights its impressive energy recuperation performance. By the end of the drive, the CLA has generated enough energy to plug in and power the festive holiday lights. The sequence was filmed on a closed course and under supervision.
The new Mercedes-Benz CLA will set standards in its segment for efficiency and sustainability. Almost all brake applications are performed with the aid of recuperation and not mechanically via the wheel brakes, thereby recovering kinetic energy to charge the battery. The strong deceleration values result in more recovered energy and a longer all-electric range.
