Last week, the sad news from the family of Jules Bianchi, the French driver who died following the terrible accident at the 2014 Japanese GP, had caused great indignation in the world of motorsport and beyond: some criminals had taken possession of several objects belonging to him, including the last kart used by the Frenchman himself before his death. An episode that had pushed Philippe Bianchi, the driver’s father, to launch an appeal on social media in the hope of finding the stolen goods, underlining how much that kart had a sentimental rather than economic value for him and his family. A week later, at least as far as karting is concerned, some good news arrived. Also on social media, Philippe announced the discovery of the kart following the theft, publishing a photo together with the KZ 125 ART GP model and thanking all those who contributed to the return of this kart home: “I am very happy to confirm that we have found Jules’ go-kart, which is a huge relief for our entire family – he wrote – a huge thank you to all those who shared this on social media, to the newspapers that reported the news and to the Brignoles gendarmerie for their work,” he wrote on his Instagram account, expressing his gratitude for the support received and for the work of the authorities. Thank you all so much for making all this possible. We still have to find some go-karts and a minibike, but thanks to all of you, I still have a lot of hope. Forever Jules.”
