Karea, Türkiye’s domestic electric mobility brand, decided to significantly increase its production capacity after increasing demand for its first model, Karea Fit. While the compact electric vehicle positioned in the M0 segment has become one of the notable models in urban mobility in a short time, a 3-fold increase in production and a 2-fold growth in employment is aimed.
Developed by Karel Kalıp, Karea Fit has received high demand from different cities of Türkiye, from Istanbul to Hatay, from Ankara to Izmir, since the pre-order process started in March. Following the increasing interest, the brand launched a new investment process on the production side.
Karea General Manager Refik Diri stated that the demand was above their expectations and that they decided to increase the production capacity. Diri said, “After the intense interest shown in Karea Fit, we started the investment process that will triple our production capacity. With this process, our employment will also double. Our biggest motivation was to produce solutions to the real needs of city life.”
Diri also emphasized that Karea Fit started to meet users in different cities and said that the Karea Experience Center in Maslak, Istanbul, also attracted great interest.
Focusing on urban mobility, Karea Fit offers easy maneuverability in narrow streets with its compact dimensions. The model, developed especially for urban use with a length of 2631 mm and a turning circle of 4 meters, also meets daily needs with a luggage volume of 184 liters.
Built on a 12 kW electric motor and 96V LFP battery architecture, the vehicle offers a range of approximately 120 kilometers and can charge its battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in approximately 3 hours with home charging. With a maximum speed of 90 km/h, Karea Fit can be used on ring roads as well as in the city.
On the driving safety side, the McPherson independent suspension system, disc brakes and electric steering system stand out. With its rear view camera and basic driving support equipment, the model is positioned as a practical and accessible electric transportation solution in the compact segment.
With increasing demand and accelerating production plan, Karea Fit is at the center of a new growth wave in the electric micro mobility segment in Türkiye.
