By purchasing a unit to serve two vehicles simultaneously, fleet operators are addressing a real cost-per-port issue in commercial EV charging Heliox, a business of Siemens, has launched the H60D, a 60 kW DC fast charger with two Combined Charging System Type 1 (CCS1) outputs that can serve two vehicles simultaneously from a single unit. Power is distributed dynamically between outputs, with all 60 kW distributed to one vehicle or the output distributed to two vehicles as demand changes throughout the day. The dual-port design addresses the cost-per-port constraint at the heart of fleet electrification at scale by reducing hardware spend and footprint per charging port. The H60D operates wall- or pedestal-mounted in networked or standalone configurations, with NEMA 3R-rated housing for indoor or outdoor distribution in temperatures from -30°C to +55°C. The 200–1,000 V DC output range covers current and next-generation commercial battery platforms, while communication via Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) 1.6J and 2.0.1 supports smart charging functionality. Peak efficiency of over 96% minimizes power losses during charging sessions. Designed and manufactured in the United States to Build America, Buy America Act standards, the H60D is SAE J1772 CCS1 compliant for North American distribution. RFID capability supports driver access management in fleet operations, and the unit comes with a standard 24-month warranty as well as optional preventive maintenance programs.
