GM’s electric vehicle sales in the U.S. dropped nearly 19% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year, totaling 25,851 units.The top five most popular GM electric cars in the U.S. market for the first quarter of 2026 are as follows:Chevrolet Equinox EV: 9,589 units (-7%);Cadillac Lyriq: 3,370 units (-22%);Cadillac Optiq: 2,847 units (+66%);Chevrolet Silverado EV: 1,406 units (-41%);GMC Hummer EV: 1,653 units (-52%).While GM’s EV sales fell 19% year-over-year in Q1 2026, the automaker’s overall sales declined 10% during the same period. This means EV sales dropped at a faster rate than GM’s total sales.Additionally, electric vehicles accounted for just four percent of General Motors’ total sales volume.
