According to new data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the Ford Ranger leads in pickup sales and ranks eighth among all light commercial vehicles in the UK market for the first three months of the year, with 3,279 units sold. This detail matters because it highlights the Ranger’s strong performance even as overall light commercial vehicle sales in the UK fell by 3.4% last month to 49,505 units—the lowest March figure since 2023.In practice, this means the Ranger has bucked broader trends. Pickup sales plunged by 54%, and small van sales dropped by 53.8%, though medium and large van sales saw growth. Meanwhile, electric van sales declined by 15.9%, hitting their lowest level since September 2023.
