European Move from MG: 200 Million Euro Production Facility is Being Established in Spain
MG Engineannounced that it will establish its first production facility in Europe in the Galicia region of Spain. The investment of approximately 200 million Euros is seen as an important milestone in the brand’s growth strategy in the European market.
MG, operating under SAIC Motor, aims to strengthen its “In Europe, for Europe” approach with this investment. The facility, which is planned to start production in 2028, is expected to reach an annual capacity of 120 thousand vehicles, and the project is expected to create employment for more than 2 thousand people.
The brand, represented by Doğan Trend Otomotiv in Türkiye, aims not only to increase its production capacity with this facility, but also to establish a more integrated structure in the supply chain in Europe.
Within the scope of MG’s electrification strategy, new generation battery technologies and hybrid solutions also come to the fore. SolidCore semi-solid state battery technology, Hybrid+ and plug-in hybrid systems form the basis of the brand’s future product range.
Continuing its rapid growth in Europe, MG aims to deliver its 1 millionth vehicle on the continent in 2026. With its expanding model range and electric vehicle investments, the brand plans to further strengthen its position in the European automotive market.
