TEMSA delivered 15 MD9 electriCITY to Lithuania, one of the pioneers of electrification transformation in Europe. With the other vehicles planned to be delivered in 2026, the number of TEMSA branded vehicles on Lithuanian roads will reach 321.
Aiming to be the preferred mobility brand, TEMSA started 2026 quickly after completing the year 2025 with records. TEMSA, which expanded its vehicle park domestically and increased its global footprint abroad, delivered 15 MD9 electriCITY model buses that it exported to Lithuania. The delivery ceremony held in Kaunas, Lithuania; European Commission Representatives, Central Government and Municipal Managers, Central Project Management Agency Members, representatives of Kautra and passenger transportation companies and TEMSA CEO Evren Güzel attended.

The vehicles delivered within the scope of Lithuania’s vision of electrification transformation in public transportation will be used in public transportation services of local governments within UAB Kautra, which is one of the largest operators in the country and has also been operating as a TEMSA dealer for more than 20 years. With the other vehicles planned to be delivered in 2026, the number of TEMSA branded vehicles on Lithuanian roads will reach 321.
Lithuania is one of the countries that embrace the electrification transformation at the highest level in Europe. The report published by the European Commission in recent months revealed that 52 percent of the new buses on the road in the country are electric.
We Position TEMSA as the ‘Preferred Mobility Brand’
Speaking at the delivery ceremony TEMSA CEO Evren Güzel“Today, with the strategic transformation processes we have successfully carried out in recent years, we are positioning TEMSA as the ‘Preferred Mobility Brand’, which is determinedly progressing towards becoming a strong global player, with a flexible and diverse product portfolio, a strong footprint across continents, and a turnover of 1 billion dollars on a global scale. This delivery we carried out in Lithuania is one of the most remarkable reflections of this transformation in the field. Lithuania’s determined transformation vision in public transportation is strong with the sustainable mobility approach that we focus on. “We see the success we have achieved in this market as a result of the right partnerships, the right technology and our ability to understand local needs correctly.”
Kautra CEO Linas Skardžiukas stated that they were very pleased with TEMSA’s contribution to this strategic transformation and stated that they looked at the project with an ecosystem management approach. Drawing attention to the effects of this approach on the field, Skardžiukas said, “What is important for us is not only to purchase the vehicles, but also to develop the necessary infrastructure investments and charging stations. In this way, it is possible for a single electric bus to reduce approximately 650 tons of CO₂ emissions during 10 years of use, which is equivalent to the emissions of approximately 360 passenger vehicles in the same period.”
