Chevrolet will integrate Tesla’s NACS connector into the electric Bolt crossover and updated Blazer EV by 2027, granting access to Tesla Superchargers for faster, more convenient charging.
The switch to the new connector type started even earlier, with the 2026 Cadillac Optiq. Now GM has decided to extend this approach to other popular models in its brand, such as the electric Chevrolet Bolt crossover, which will also adopt NACS in 2027 alongside the updated Chevrolet Blazer EV.For owners of previous-generation vehicles, the company plans to ensure full backward compatibility by offering specially designed adapter plugs. These adapters will allow seamless connection to existing CCS fast-charging stations.The main benefit of switching to NACS, however, is that owners of new Chevrolet models will gain access to the largest charging network in North America: the Tesla Supercharger. This network stands out for its high power output and well-placed locations, enabling drivers to quickly recharge their batteries almost anywhere, from major cities to remote highways. For current Chevrolet models, connecting to a Tesla Supercharger will not require any extra adapters, greatly simplifying daily EV use. This move broadens possibilities for owners, making trips more comfortable and cost-efficient regardless of distance.
