The knowledge gained from motor sports will directly contribute to the R&D competencies of the brand. All these steps stand out as a holistic growth move that reinforces Chery Group’s global competitiveness.
Chery Group, together with the Wuhu Municipal People’s Government, signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Paris with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, considered one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world. The three parties aim to open the door to a new era in China-France motor sports cooperation by working together in the fields of developing the motor sports ecosystem, popularizing automotive culture and integrating industrial development.
Motorsport-focused industrial center in Wuhu
Under the cooperation plan, the city of Wuhu will deepen its work with the ACO to build a race track at FIA Grade 1 standards. This project, which will be developed with a focus on motor sports, aims to create a comprehensive industrial center covering sports and cultural events, tourism and recreation, vehicle testing processes, smart connection technologies, chip R&D activities and commercial services. Thus, motor sports will have an integrated structure with city development and industrial ecosystem.
