While waiting for the pre-season tests which will take place in mid-February on the Sakhir circuit, Brembo has officially announced the contract extension with Ferrari for the supply of braking systems. The multi-year agreement reached between the Bergamo company and the Maranello team, valid from this season, is not concentrated only and exclusively in the field of F1, but also in that of the WEC. Consequently, Ferrari will try to defend the Endurance Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ world title won last year in the Hypercar class by counting on a historic partner like Brembo: “In endurance races, competitiveness is played on the ability to maintain high and constant performance, efficiency and reliability in often extreme and variable environmental conditions – commented Ferdinando Cannizzo, Head of Ferrari Endurance Race Cars – the collaboration with Brembo which now also extends to the endurance world, allows us to face these challenges by being able to count on a partner who shares with us fundamental values such as the pursuit of excellence, result orientation and the continuous drive for innovation. Together, we develop braking solutions that guarantee resistance, safety and performance, decisive elements for competing at the highest levels in the FIA WEC”. A double renewal, in F1 and in the WEC, a source of great pride for the Orobic company and for Mauro Piccoli, Chief Marketing Officer of Brembo: “Brembo and Ferrari share a history made of challenges and progress. Bringing this collaboration from Formula 1 with Scuderia Ferrari HP to the endurance of the FIA WEC with Ferrari Hypercar is a natural step: endurance enhances reliability, consistency of performance and efficiency, the pillars on which we build our braking systems. In a theater of Motorsport is increasingly followed also by the new generations, this partnership is the ideal framework to enhance our brand and to develop technologies capable of transferring performance and safety from the track to everyday cars, strengthening our identity as an innovator and technological leader in braking solutions”. The handshake between Brembo and Ferrari also confirms a solid technical collaboration, among the longest in the reality of F1 and motorsport, as stated by Lorenzo Giorgetti, Chief Racing Revenue of Ferrari: “The renewal and strengthening of the partnership with Brembo represents the natural evolution of a historic collaboration that has lasted for over fifty years. Extending this relationship also to the Ferrari Hypercar project in the World Endurance Championship means sharing a common vision in the name of innovation, performance and reliability at the highest levels in Motorsport. Brembo is a reference partner, capable of accompanying us in both Formula 1 and Endurance, different disciplines but united by the same pursuit of technical excellence”.
Brembo and Ferrari still together, in F1 and in the WEC
