Day marked by rain The second day of testing in Barcelona predicted rain in the afternoon, but the precipitation began to appear already in the morning. Only Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari S26 and Max Verstappen’s Red Bull RB22 have taken to the track so far in this second day of testing. Both drivers ran in both dry and wet conditions. On a chronometric level, according to the data reported by the Spanish newspaper soymotor.com, Max Verstappen stopped the clock at 1’19″578, while Leclerc lapped in 1’20″844. In the rain Leclerc was much faster, reaching up to 1’32” against Verstappen’s 1’38”, in general the Monegasque completed many more laps than the Dutchman, 64 against 27. Verstappen was also the protagonist of an off-track exit in Turn-5 which forced a brief red flag, the four-time world champion regained the track and then stopped in the pits and returned to the track shortly after.
