Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, has once again become a focus of global cooperation and advanced technology with Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2026, one of the most important meetings of the automotive aftermarket industry. The organization, held for the 15th time, strongly demonstrated that the region is not only a production center but also a strategic hub in the mobility technologies of the future.
317 participants from 16 countries took part in the event, which took place in the 12,538 square meter fair area. 16,523 visitors from 58 countries once again confirmed the international trust in the ASEAN region and the Malaysian automotive ecosystem.

Speaking at the opening of the event, Malaysian Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Haji Hasbi bin Haji Habibollah emphasized that the country’s goal is not only to have high vehicle ownership, but also to be a smart and leading automotive market. It was stated that Malaysia aims to increase the share of electric vehicles in new vehicle sales to 20 percent in 2030 and to 80 percent in 2050.

The main theme that stands out throughout the fair is; electric vehicles, digitalization and sustainable mobility solutions. In the organization that brought together all links of the automotive supply chain, a wide ecosystem was exhibited, from raw material suppliers to advanced service solutions.

At the conferences held within the scope of the fair, 20 speakers focused on topics such as transformation in the Asian automotive market, electrification and supply chain integration. More than 560 participants showed great interest in the content, especially on digitalization and renewable energy.
Collision Repair Training Workshop attracted great attention with more than 960 participants. Topics such as electric vehicle repair, artificial intelligence-supported diagnostic systems and sustainable paint technologies were discussed with applied training.
Car culture and experience-oriented fair approach
The event attracted attention not only as a commercial but also a cultural platform. Many events, from esports races to classic vehicle exhibitions, from modified cars to interactive experience areas, attracted the attention of visitors.

While fair participants expressed their satisfaction with the increased cooperation opportunities in the ASEAN region, it was emphasized that the event has become an important connection point for both local workshops and international distributors.

The next leg of the organization will be held in Kuala Lumpur on 8-10 April 2027. The event, which is considered one of the most important meetings of the ASEAN automotive ecosystem, was a strong indicator that the transformation in the region will continue unabated.
