Air suspension’s payload advantage tests whether Indian transport economics can shift towards improved load efficiency rather than fleet size Ashok Leyland has launched India’s first air suspension trucks, with three AVTR models of 45, 46 and 49 tonnes gross vehicle weight and payload advantages of up to four tonnes over conventional alternatives. The Hinduja Group commercial vehicle (CV) manufacturer says the range also offers maintenance-free rear suspension, better tire life and less vibration. The AVTR 4925 10×2 MAV, AVTR 4625 10×2 MAV, and AVTR 4525 8×2 MAV are available in bodywork and cab configurations with multiple loading range options for a variety of payload applications. Intelligent vehicle acceleration control (iVAC) and automatic traction control (ATC) are standard across the range.
