It’s almost time for Williams’ official presentation for the 2026 championship, with the first images of the FW48 to be revealed online today. A pre-season period that was not at all encouraging for the historic Grove team, the only one that did not take part in the shakedown in Barcelona due to delays in the single-seater project. Yet, in the last few hours, the team has reached important commercial agreements. After the multi-year partnership with Anthropic, an American artificial intelligence company, the English team has announced the agreement reached with compatriot Barclays, which from now on becomes the official banking partner of the team that won nine Constructors’ titles. For Barclays this is its entry into F1, even if the brand is already known in the world of sport for being leading sports in championships such as the Premier League and the Wimbledon tournament, to name just the most famous. Furthermore, the brand will be the main sponsor of the single-seater, and will be present on the drivers’ helmets and racing suits, as well as in the team’s garage and hospitality area: “We are delighted to welcome Barclays to our sport as the Official Banking Partner of the Atlassian Williams F1 Team – commented Team Principal James Vowles – as we prepare for one of the most significant regulatory changes in the history of Formula 1, we are preparing to seize the opportunities of the new era together with Barclays, continuing to invest for success in the long term.” A new collaboration that also excites Stephen Dainton, President of Barclays Bank PLC: “Our partnership with Atlassian Williams F1 Team will strengthen our client engagement and enhance our brand in our key markets, alongside the expansion of our investment banking, private banking and wealth management relationships. Collaborating with one of the most renowned teams in Formula 1 offers unrivaled global visibility. Barclays has long been one of the most committed corporate partners in the world of sport – from the Premier League to the Women’s Super League, through Lord’s, Wimbledon, NBA Brooklyn Nets and WNBA Liberty – and we pair these world-class platforms with major investments in grassroots and community sports. It is this combination of elite performance and local impact that defines our approach.”
