Project GT4’s 2028 race target brings Maserati into a multi-year development cycle as the brand rebuilds As well as the public unveiling of the updated GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Grecale range, Maserati has unveiled Project GT4, a GranTurismo-derived track car, aimed at GT4 competition in 2028, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The livery also marks the centenary of the Trident logo, with 100 special Trident liveries bearing the GT4 prototype. Project GT4 Project GT4 is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno engine with Formula 1-derived front-chamber combustion technology, delivering over 700 hp in certain configurations, paired with rear-wheel drive and GT Trofeo-derived suspension with adjustable shock absorbers. The vehicle is around 400kg lighter than the road-going GranTurismo and is built to GT4 regulations with 18-inch alloy wheels. The updated GranTurismo and GranCabrio feature revised exteriors and interiors; The Nettuno V6 produces up to 590 PS and 650 Nm in Trofeo specification and has a top speed of over 320 km/h with all-wheel drive standard across the range. The Grecale, GranTurismo and GranCabrio MCXtrema, MCPURA Cielo and GT2 Stradale are also available in the Supercar Paddock and will make the Goodwood hill climb, with the MCXtrema entering the Timed Shootout from Friday. Santo Ficili, Chief Executive Officer of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, described Goodwood as the ideal stage for a brand celebrating 100 years of both the Trident logo and its racing heritage, and said Project GT4 reinforced Maserati Corse’s role as the company’s development laboratory, with the program based in Modena.
