With the A110 Future, Alpine is putting its brand at risk on whether true EV performance can replace the combustion sports car experience. Alpine has introduced the A110 Future, the development vehicle for the third-generation A110, ahead of the Goodwood Festival of Speed premiere from 9-12 July. The third-generation A110 will be the world’s first true electric vehicle (EV) sports car, powered by the new Alpine Performance Platform (APP). The APP is designed around an advanced aluminum architecture with 40/60 front:rear weight distribution, using 800V cell-to-pack technology and high energy density cells to reduce weight and charging time. The 3-in-1 e-axle with rear dual e-motors with silicon carbide (SiC) inverters provides torque and ultra-fast control, as well as full aluminum suspension and new integrated braking and steering systems. Goodwood will also showcase the A290 electric hot hatch and Alpine’s A390, a 470bhp five-seat sports fastback. The Alpine Moment on July 9 will bring together the A110 Future and landmark A110 heritage models, culminating with the E20 Formula 1 car show. BWT Alpine Formula One Team drivers Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto head up a five-man strong driver presence, joining the Alpine Academy and reserve drivers Nina Gademan, Paul Aron and Alex Dunne. Daily driver meetings, autograph sessions and interactive simulators complete the brand’s stand.
