Class-action lawsuit against Jaguar Land Rover claims 2023 Range Rover brake pads and discs fail early, costing $2,000-$2,500 to repair. Learn about the allegations and legal proceedings.
A class-action lawsuit has been filed in the United States against Jaguar Land Rover North America over premature brake wear on 2023 Range Rover models. Plaintiffs allege that the components are failing well ahead of their expected lifespan.According to court documents, owners reported needing to replace brake pads and discs after just 14,000 to 16,000 miles (approximately 22,500–25,700 kilometers). The repair costs ranged from $2,000 to $2,500.The lawsuit suggests the issue may stem from brake system overheating, which accelerates component wear. Drivers also complained of squeaking, vibrations, and unusual noises during braking. Plaintiffs claim dealerships refused warranty repairs, classifying brakes as wear-and-tear items. The complaint references technical bulletins that point to recurring instances of these failures.A New Jersey court has denied the company’s attempt to move the case to arbitration, meaning the legal proceedings will continue.
