Hadjar, the new face of Red Bull Isack Hadjar had wanted to get noticed in Red Bull since the shakedown. And the results have been seen, for better or for worse. The Frenchman led the rankings on the first day of work at Montmeló, accumulating 107 laps and immediately providing a large amount of data to the team. In the wake of this happy debut, the former Racing Bulls driver pushed on the accelerator to confirm his performance on Tuesday, but crashed into the barriers at the last corner, in the rain. The off-track departure certainly slowed down the team’s plans, which only returned to the track on Friday for the last day of work. Hadjar, putting everything on the scales, still considers his approach with the RB22 to be positive. Hadjar’s words “It was nice to have a good day on Monday. It was very productive and we managed to do many more laps than we expected, everything went quite smoothly and we only had small problems. It was quite impressive considering it was our first day with our power unit”, this was his comment. “Unfortunately, on Tuesday, immediately after switching from wet tires to intermediate tyres, I lost control of the car in the final corner and I know the consequences were not ideal for the team.” “The good thing is that I’ve already started to understand and work on some aspects of the car; obviously there are still a lot of things to fine-tune, but so far it’s been consistent,” he added. “These cars are very different, in general they are a little more predictable and linear than the previous generation. They are easier to play with and from a power unit point of view there are many more options available to the driver. I couldn’t have prepared better for this season and I hope to start the year strong, but the work isn’t done yet, I’m learning every day.”
Hadjar: “It’s a shame about the accident, I hope to start 2026 great”
