Christian Stein has been appointed the new CEO of Renault Group Spain, succeeding Josep María Recasens, who has decided to pursue new professional challenges outside the company. Christian Stein will combine this new role with his position as Chief Communication Officer of Renault Group and will report to François Provost, CEO of Renault Group.
As CEO of Renault Group Spain, he will be in charge of all of the Group’s activities in Spain, while also ensuring the Group’s highest institutional representation in the country.
This appointment comes at the time of the launch of Renault Group’s global strategic plan, futuREady, and follows the recent signing of the new collective social agreement in Renault Spain. This agreement secures the future of the Spanish plants through the allocation of five new models, reinforcing their long-term sustainability, as well as the deployment of the Group’s new electric platform.
Renault Group, which is celebrating 75 years of presence in Spain this year, has a strong industrial, commercial, and R&D footprint, with sites in Madrid, Valladolid, Palencia, and Seville, as well as an extensive network of 482 sales and after-sales outlets, marketing the Renault, Dacia, and Alpine brands, supported by Mobilize Financial Services.
For François Provost, CEO of Renault Group, “With more than 35 years of experience in the automotive industry, Christian Stein has built a rare career at the crossroads of operations, business, and influence: distribution, sales, marketing, brands, communication, and public affairs.
This experience, combined with his in-depth knowledge of the Spanish market and culture, will be decisive in supporting the new phase opening up in the country. Spain is a strategic market and major industrial hub for the Group, and it has just reached an important milestone with the allocation of five new electric models to its plants as part of the futuREady plan.
I would also like to thank Josep María Recasens for his commitment to the Group over the past years and wish him every success in his future endeavors.”
Christian Stein holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from EMLYON Business School. He has 35 years of experience in the automotive sector. He began his career in 1991 at Peugeot, where he developed an international track record in France, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, holding various roles in commerce, finance, sales, and marketing. In 2011, he joined Seat as Global Marketing Director, then Global Director of Communication and Public Affairs. In 2020, he joined Renault Group as Vice President, Brand Communications. In 2023, he was appointed Vice President, Revenue Management & Customer Experience at Ampere, and since 2024, he has held the position of Chief Communication Officer of Renault Group.
