There’s a new red in town Fiorano welcomed the first kilometers on the track of the brand new Ferrari SF-26 with the usual great warmth, despite the foggy and rainy climate that christened the new Formula 1 red.
There is a lighter, glossier color and a more visually striking white, but it will be the technical solutions chosen for the new regulations that will make the difference for a Ferrari that is eager to break its long world fast. Vasseur, heads to the tests In the press release released by Ferrari for the presentation of the SF-26, the very first statements from team principal Frederic Vasseur were reported, who did not want to fuel illusions and maintained the low profile kept by the team throughout the winter. The French manager explained: “The SF-26 marks the beginning of a new cycle for Formula 1 and for Ferrari which proposes, in the same year, new rules for the chassis, for the power unit, new fuels and tires with different characteristics. This car is the result of great team work and marks the beginning of a completely new path, built on different rules which sees all competitors having to deal with quite a few unknowns.”
After the usual phrases, Vasseur was keen to underline: “The team is aligned and more united than ever in view of the season that awaits us. From next week in Barcelona we will begin the work of understanding and validating the car. In this first phase the priority will be to learn as much as possible and start to build solid foundations on which to plan the work in view of the start of the season”.
