Goodwood, West Sussex, Thursday 5 February 2026

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has long engineered its motor cars with a singular expectation: that they will be preserved, admired and passed from one generation to the next. Today, that philosophy is finding clear expression in Spectre. Increasingly recognised by clients and collectors as a motor car of lasting significance, Spectre has rapidly established itself within the marque’s emerging Goodwood-era collector canon.

Commissioned with the same sense of permanence that defines every Rolls-Royce, Spectre and its Black Badge alter ego are being embraced not simply as contemporary luxury statements, but as future classics in the making. This shift in perception is being driven by client behaviour around the world, with Spectre consistently specified as a collector’s item rather than a fleeting acquisition.

From its very first year of availability, Spectre demonstrated an unmistakable resonance with clients. It outperformed both Wraith and Dawn during their respective debut years, signalling a decisive embrace of Rolls-Royce’s first electric coupé as an authentic continuation of the marque’s legacy. By 2025, Spectre had become the second most demanded Rolls-Royce motor car globally, with many collectors who already curate significant Goodwood-era portfolios identifying it as an essential addition.

This momentum has been reinforced by the nature of the commissions themselves. In 2025, Spectre received a significant share of the marque’s most valuable Bespoke creations, underscoring its appeal as a long-term emotional asset. Highly personal commissions such as Spectre Bailey, created as a joyful tribute to a cherished dog, and Spectre Soulmate, honouring the intertwined lives of a couple deeply connected to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, illustrate the depth of meaning clients are choosing to embed within their motor cars. Each Bespoke commission reflects Spectre’s capacity to serve as a canvas for enduring personal stories, realised with the restraint and craftsmanship expected of the marque.

Spectre’s design language supports this evolution from contemporary icon to future classic. Its monolithic form, elegant proportions and clean surfacing present a modern yet timeless interpretation of Rolls-Royce design principles. The dramatic split headlamps reference the Phantom Coupé, Spectre’s spiritual predecessor, while the commanding Pantheon grille anchors its unmistakable presence. The sweeping fastback silhouette recalls the grace of historic Rolls-Royce coupés, ensuring Spectre feels both of its time and comfortably beyond it.

Inside, Spectre offers new dimensions of Bespoke expression. Starlight Doors and the Illuminated Fascia allow clients to commission deeply individual interiors, executed with a level of precision and balance that maintains the marque’s hallmark sense of calm authority. The result is an interior environment that feels innovative without ever being transient.

Spectre also fulfils a vision articulated more than 120 years ago. In 1900, The Hon. Charles Stewart Rolls predicted that the electric car would one day become “perfectly noiseless and clean,” free from smell and vibration, once charging infrastructure allowed it. Spectre stands as a realisation of that conviction, embodying an electric powertrain that aligns seamlessly with Rolls-Royce’s values of effortlessness and refinement.

Its status as a future classic is further underpinned by exceptional engineering integrity. Spectre was conceived with the same commitment to longevity that has always defined the marque. Following an unprecedented 2,500,000-kilometre testing programme, the most extensive in Rolls-Royce history, prototype Spectres continue to be operated by specialist engineering teams. One recently retired test motor car retained 99 percent battery capacity after more than 100,000 kilometres of real-world driving across multiple climates and geographies, confirming exceptional battery longevity.

This confidence is formalised through a 15-year, unlimited mileage battery warranty, offered as standard to new and existing Spectre clients. Beyond this, Rolls-Royce has secured future cell supply well beyond the middle of the century, ensuring that every Spectre can be supported for decades to come, exactly as clients expect from the marque.

As several early Goodwood-era Rolls-Royces, including Phantom Coupé, begin to take their place among revered classics, Spectre follows naturally in their footsteps. Its rise reflects a generational shift among collectors, who are increasingly drawn to highly Bespoke electric Rolls-Royces that combine modern relevance with enduring value. This evolution is being closely observed as the marque continues to shape its future product roadmap.

A photographic series accompanying this announcement captures Spectre alongside a 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud coupé in one of London’s most desirable districts. The pairing underscores Spectre’s comfort in the company of established collector motor cars, and its place at home in the world’s most prestigious settings.

As Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, reflects: “Spectre has been created with the same legacy that defines every Rolls-Royce. As the first of its kind, it marks a distinct moment in our history. Our clients understand this intuitively and commission Spectre as a Rolls-Royce to be admired and passed down for generations. This was reflected in its reception: Spectre was our most successful coupé launch to date.”

In Spectre, Rolls-Royce has not simply introduced its first electric motor car. It has created a defining artefact of the Goodwood era, engineered, commissioned and cherished with the expectation that it will endure.
