Touareg FINAL EDITION models on sale Thursday 11 December
Both models come with more features and lower prices than their outgoing equivalents
Touareg factory production is set to end for UK customers in 2027
Milton Keynes – Two special-edition Volkswagens go on sale on Thursday 11 December to mark the end of an era – the Touareg FINAL EDITION and the plug-in hybrid Touareg R FINAL EDITION.
The Volkswagen Touareg – a luxury-class SUV with genuine off-road muscle – has captivated an entire generation of motorists since its debut in 2002. Factory production of the Touareg combustion engine model is set to end for UK customers in 2027, but the new special editions will make sure the Touareg continues to excite and impress.
The Touareg FINAL EDITION replaces the Black Edition and the Touareg R FINAL EDITION replaces the R model, while the outgoing Touareg Elegance continues to be available from stock only.
The special-edition models are characterised by exclusive design elements inside and out. FINAL EDITION lettering is laser-engraved on the window surrounds of the rear doors, embossed in the leather gear lever, and appears in the illuminated dash panel trim and sill panel mouldings.
The Touareg FINAL EDITION is available for £72,535 (on-the-road recommended retail price including VAT) – £1,990 less than the outgoing Black Edition, but it comes with additional features worth £2,500 including:
Metallic paint
Upgraded Varenna leather seats
Increased fuel tank capacity to 90 litres
Tow bar, power folding with Trailer Assist
Power latching (assisted closing) for all doors
Stainless steel illuminated door sill protectors
Interior ambient lighting with 30 colour options
FINAL EDITION lettering
The Touareg R FINAL EDITION is available for £81,455 (OTR RRP inc VAT) – £1,805 less than the outgoing R model, but it comes with additional features worth £1,700 including:
Metallic paint
Tow bar, power folding with Trailer Assist
Power latching for all doors
Final Edition lettering
The Touareg FINAL EDITION has a 286 PS 3.0 TDI engine under its bonnet, while the Touareg R FINAL EDITION has a more potent 462 PS 3.0 TSI eHybrid unit; both are paired with 4MOTION all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic Tiptronic gearbox.
The Touareg is currently available in 39 countries, and more than 1.2 million have been sold globally since the first model was unveiled in 2002. It is known for its timelessly understated design alongside its stylish interior, premium comfort and technical innovations which have then been incorporated throughout Volkswagen’s portfolio of cars.
