F1 2026, the first day of school Formula 1 today officially began its journey into the new era. The regulatory revolution, which involves elements and concepts of the entire machine, began with the Montmeló shakedown. Among the first to tour in Catalonia was Haas, and Esteban Ocon was therefore able to have a first impression of the new cars. Ocon’s words “I think the team made an incredible effort to set up the car at 9.20 this morning. We were already ready from 9 but we were waiting for slightly better track conditions before going out”, these are the words of the Frenchman, who refers to the initially wet track. “From testing at Fiorano with Oliver until now, there’s been a lot of movement, as if people have climbed mountains to get this car working. And it’s been really fantastic. We’re following the plan, learning as we go. We’ve got a very busy program for the day. It’s going to be difficult to complete, but for the first real day, I think it’s going really well so far. We’ll keep pushing to make sure all the details are covered,” he added after the morning’s break. “I was lucky to be able to do a lot of simulator days before starting the year. So we are quite prepared on this. Everything is clear. It’s very complicated, but it is for everyone, we will all be in the same boat.” “The objective is to learn and clock up kilometers with the car, see its weak points by having a first impression of the car. This way we will be sure to undertake the right development path. And we will be sure to invest resources where it is most important, where we are most concerned. We will try to put all this together for the end of the tests”, concluded the Frenchman.
Ocon: “The team made an incredible effort. The goal is to clock up km”
