Leading tire manufacturer Continental has expanded its 5th generation hybrid tire family, developed specifically for regional freight transportation, with Conti Hybrid HT 5. Providing reliable performance in different scenarios, from urban distribution to highways and short-distance construction site roads, Continental’s new trailer tire aims to increase the operational efficiency of fleets with its structure compatible with front and drive axles.
Hinnerk Kaiser, Head of Product Development for Continental Bus and Truck Tires, Regarding the new product, he said: “We developed the Conti Hybrid HT 5 to respond to the high daily demands of regional distribution transportation. It offers safe, efficient and durable performance in challenging operational conditions such as frequent stop-and-go traffic, maneuvering in narrow spaces, cornering and variable load conditions.”

Save up to 32 Tires per Year with Conti Hybrid HT 5
Conti Hybrid HT 5 offers up to 15 percent higher mileage compared to the previous generation Conti Hybrid HT 3+ model. This increase contributes to reducing tire replacement costs in trailer operations.
For a typical regional fleet of 80 trailers and an average annual mileage of 110,000 kilometers per trailer, this development means approximately 32 fewer tire changes per year. Thus, not only tire costs but also the operational burden in replacement, storage and supply processes are reduced.
Thanks to the optimized rolling resistance, fuel consumption is reduced and a direct positive impact on fleet operating costs is achieved. Considering that tires account for a significant portion of total operating costs in commercial vehicle fleets, this improvement offers a critical economic advantage. At the same time, thanks to the production of fewer new tires, raw material consumption decreases and contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions throughout the value chain.
Strong Grip on Wet and Cold Surfaces
Thanks to the newly developed tread compound and optimized tread pattern, Conti Hybrid HT 5 offers improved grip performance, especially in wet and cold road conditions. The tire has a “B” rating for wet performance on the EU tire label.
Zigzag-shaped center channels and specially designed 2D pocket sipes provide reliable handling even as the tread depth decreases. Optimized tread stiffness supports balanced distribution of pressure and contributes to stable and controlled braking performance on wet surfaces.
In addition, the tire, which received an “A” rating on the EU label for external rolling noise, also helps reduce environmental noise pollution with low noise emissions.
