Starting from scratch The 2026 F1 season is already about to get underway as next week will already be time for presentations with Red Bull and Racing Bulls who will unveil the liveries on Thursday 15 January in Detroit at Ford’s headquarters. The former Ferrari Jock Clear did not say too much about who he thinks will start this new regulatory cycle on the right foot or not: “I haven’t yet got an idea of who, in my opinion, will start off great, as they say – said Clear reached by CasinoHawks – I’ve read a lot of opinions around and I think there is a general belief that Mercedes will do an excellent job, but I don’t know if this is only due to the fact that last time there was a big change in the rules relating to the engines “They’ve done a great job at Mercedes. A lot has changed since then. A lot of people have moved on. The other teams have learned a lot from what Mercedes did in 2014.” The romantic in me would say this would be amazing, I would say to myself ‘Newey has done it again’. But then on the other hand, I think no, definitely not, you can’t tell me that Adrian is going to do it again with Aston Martin, it’s just absurd. So I’m not sure what direction I’d like the situation to go. There is certainly a lot of irons in the fire, even for the pilots, who will have a central role due to the tools they will have at their disposal. I’m very curious to see how everyone will interpret these rules and how they will react after the first races.”
