Hyundai opened two “N Fast Charging Stations” at the Nürburgring. According to the South Korean automaker, charging stations at the motorsport track embody Hyundai N’s “Performance for All” philosophy by providing track enthusiasts with access to fast charging infrastructure. Joon Park, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Company N Management Group, said: “With the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N, Hyundai has set new standards in the high-performance electric vehicle segment. N Ultra Fast Charging Stations are part of our efforts to create the necessary infrastructure. We hope that this milestone will enable more car enthusiasts to conquer every corner of this ‘Green Hell’ and use the full potential of electric power. Hyundai is committed to creating a high-performance electric vehicle ecosystem for everyone so that the driving pleasure never diminishes in the age of electrification,” he said.

The N fast chargers, located at the entrance to the tourist circuit, are Hyundai’s first charging stations of this type at the Nürburgring. “With this infrastructure improvement, Hyundai Motor enables ultra-fast charging directly on the track, ensuring that electric vehicle drivers can charge quickly and return to the track immediately, thus offering unrestricted and uninterrupted driving pleasure even in the age of electrification,” explains the company. The facility includes two fast chargers, each with two charging points, so four electric cars can be charged simultaneously. With a maximum DC output power of 400 kW, an Ioniq 5 N and an Ioniq 6 N can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 18 minutes. N fast chargers are available for all electric vehicle brands.
N fast chargers are currently on trial to ensure drivers have immediate access for the new racing season. After the testing phase, free charging service is expected to be available for Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N owners through the “Charge myHyundai” mobile application in April.
Last year, Hyundai expanded its test center at the Nürburgring, which opened in 2013, by investing 13 million euros. The company explains that this expansion provides state-of-the-art testing facilities, workshop spaces and dedicated laboratories. This investment was made as part of the expansion of the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center (HMETC), the European research and development center of the Hyundai Motor Group, located in Rüsselsheim am Main.
