Soil Razgatlıoğluachieved his second consecutive World Championship with BMW Motorrad Motorsport in the FIM Superbike World Championship. +++ The championship will be decided in the exciting season finale in Jerez de la Frontera on Sunday. +++ Markus Flasch: “Congratulations to Toprak and the whole team! This season everyone showed what real champions are made of.

Jerez de la Frontera. Title defense completed: Toprak Razgatlıoğlu (TUR) becomes World Champion once again at the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK)! ‘El Turco’ secured the crown with third place in the second main race of the dramatic season finale in Jerez de la Frontera (ESP). This is his second consecutive World Championship title as a BMW Motorrad Motorsport factory rider on the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team’s BMW M 1000 RR, and the third WorldSBK title of his career (2021, 2024, 2025).

Razgatlıoğlu entered the 2025 season as a clear favorite after his extraordinary championship in 2024. However, the season started more challenging than expected after a winter testing phase in which the BMW M 1000 RR had to be adapted at short notice due to regulation changes. Despite completing a hat-trick in the second round at Portimão (POR), setbacks were not uncommon and Razgatlıoğlu found himself in the chaser role behind Ducati rider Nicolò Bulega (ITA).

However, mid-season in June, ‘El Turco’, BMW Motorrad Motorsport and the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team turned the tide. He won every race at Misano (ITA), Donington Park (GBR), the new Balaton Park Circuit (HUN) and Magny-Cours (FRA) – completing four consecutive hat-tricks and taking the championship lead. He then celebrated his first victory at MotorLand Aragón (ESP), equaling his own record of 13 consecutive wins in 2024. After more victories and podium finishes, he claimed the 2025 title with 616 points, 13 points ahead of Bulega.

Teammate Michael van der Mark (Netherlands) completed his final weekend as a WorldSBK rider with a stronger Top 10 finish. ROKiT will continue to be part of the BMW Motorrad Motorsport family after five years with the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team (2021–2025). He will return to the BMW M 1000 RR at Jerez de la Frontera on Tuesday and work with the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Test Team to prepare for the 2026 WorldSBK season.

Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW Motorrad: “Congratulations to Toprak and the whole team! This season everyone showed what real champions are made of. The first races were not easy but for everyone – especially Toprak – the attitude was clear: get up, straighten your crown and keep going. And what a way they kept going! The streak that started at Misano was simply breathtaking. Even on the nerve-wracking final Sunday in Jerez, after his unfortunate retirement in the Superpole Race through no fault of his own, everyone was completely focused and Toprak was able to seal the deal in the second race.” “The award is Toprak’s well-deserved second World Championship title in our BMW M 1000 RR. We are incredibly proud of him and everyone in the team in Munich and Berlin whose hard work made this success possible.”

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team: “I’m very happy and smiling. It was very important for me to get the title. This was my last year at BMW and in the Superbike Paddock. It’s a great gift to BMW before we go to MotoGP. We finally became World Champions. We weren’t very strong at the beginning of the season, but we improved with each race. Thanks to the whole team and BMW for all the hard work. The World Champion is not me, it is us. Looking back at this last weekend: Especially yesterday everything went so well and today we got to the track even more.” I came easily, I was supposed to finish in the top seven in the Superpole race, but we crashed in turn five. I know that he (Nicolò Bulega) just hit me and I crashed. After that I stayed calm and focused on getting the best position possible. I started the race without pushing too much, but I moved forward step by step and we were on the podium again, it’s a great feeling. “I want to thank everyone who participated.”

Sven Blusch, Head of BMW Motorrad Motorsport: “I’m very happy and speechless. It’s a great day. I think we all aged ten years after the Superpole Race. The work the team did was amazing. The bike was quite damaged and it was incredible to work under that pressure to get it ready for the second race. Everyone stayed calm and I think that was the key to us winning the championship in the end. A second title in a row – we’re happy for Toprak, the team and BMW Motorrad. Toprak made history for BMW. It’s been a wild ride together and we’re sorry it’s over, but we’ll be cheering for him next year. Also Mickey. “We are very grateful for everything he has done for us. We have had difficult years with injuries, but he has always been loyal to us and he has played an important role in winning these two titles. We are really looking forward to continuing to work with him. We will announce soon what we will do, but for now we will have a big party and from tomorrow we will focus entirely on the 2026 WorldSBK season with Danilo Petrucci and Miguel Oliveira.”
Christian Gonschor, BMW Motorrad Motorsport Technical Director: “I can’t describe how I felt because it was an incredible day. A few hours full of a lot of emotions, ups and downs, everything happened. But it makes me very proud to finally see Toprak on the podium again, to celebrate the second world championship for us, for BMW and the whole project, the whole team, everyone involved. So it’s a great day to round off a great day. After all, the key to success in sport is always focus and teamwork. We listened to the drivers, we examined our package and we tried to focus on learning from the situations where we were not fast enough to beat our rivals. And the whole project, the whole team, everyone involved. “With the focus of the drivers, the team and all our technicians in Munich, we were able to turn the page. Thank you to Toprak, who is an incredible person on and off the track, to Mickey and the whole team who have done so much for us since joining in 2021! A very personal thank you also to my wife Katherina and my children, who have always been a source of support for me.”
Shaun Muir, Team Principal of ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team: “It’s really hard to put my feelings into words. We woke up feeling super, super positive, but as we always know, anything can happen in the race and in fact it did in the sprint race. I just have to put my hands together and praise the good job the guys did. The whole team stayed focused. In the end Toprak became a three-time World Champion and twice with BMW. I’m absolutely delighted, as proud as I can be, of everyone involved and the very hard work everyone has done.”
Michael van der Mark, ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team: “It’s been a good weekend. I definitely have some mixed feelings about my races, especially the second race, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to. But you know it’s a race and I think after today we have a lot to be happy about with the team. It’s been a strange season. The start of the season was a bit strange with last minute changes to the rules and things like that. Especially on my side, I struggled quite a lot with the bike to be honest. It was also difficult mentally at one point and I couldn’t find any progress. It was difficult. But we always kept working, the team always he kept working and I think towards the end of the year I did the Suzuka 8 Hours, I got my confidence back and then when I came back I got back to speed and I had more confidence in the bike. I think Toprak showed once again how special he is and he and the whole team deserve the title. Time has flown by and I have enjoyed my time in WorldSBK, I have six wins and podiums here now and I have a full day off on Tuesday to develop next year’s package. “I will start.”
