The Ferrari of the 2026 revolution arrives The technical revolution of F1 is here and now. And after Red Bull, Racing Bulls, Haas, Audi and Mercedes, today it is the turn of the most awaited big name in the paddock: Ferrari. 2026 is a season in which the Cavallino is playing a lot, having just returned from a terrible year in terms of results and perhaps above all also in terms of morale: the images of the presentation of the SF-25, with the delirium of the public at Fiorano who sawed down trees just to have a good view of the circuit and be able to greet the Ferrari debut of the super champion Lewis Hamilton in the best possible way remain in history, but they seem like the memory of a very distant era. To the point that now the seven-time world champion is still one of the most anticipated, but more than anything else to make up for a terrible 2025 (not just his fault) and get back on track to avoid ending his career as an extra. Hamilton, the track engineer remains at Ferrari. In the meantime, Sir Lewis Hamilton has taken on the role of the undisputed protagonist of Ferrari’s winter, at least on an organizational and political level while waiting and hoping for encouraging feedback from the track. According to what was reported in the Corriere della Sera by Daniele Sparisci and Giorgio Terruzzi, there would in fact be a certain insistence on the part of the seven-time world champion with team principal Frederic Vasseur to obtain the removal of his race engineer Riccardo Adami, recently moved to other tasks: the direction of the Ferrari Driver Academy which in recent years has become the antechamber of the farewell to Maranello for all those who have dealt with it, and the management of the TPC test program which in 2026 it will inevitably be less important than in the recent past, given the notable change in regulations which will make it less useful to take to the track with cars from previous seasons. An insistence, that of Hamilton for the change of engineer at the Ferrari wall which, according to the authoritative colleagues of the Corsera, in the corridors of Maranello would not have been much understood and by many judged “as a whim” of the driver, who in the past has criticized “procedures, methods, composition of the team”. Speaking of requests, it may not even be the last: Sparisci and Terruzzi also write that for the moment the role of Sir Lewis’ track engineer remains vacant, with Carlo Santi – Kimi Raikkonen’s former track engineer, another with whom communicating on the track was not very easy – who will take care of speaking with Hamilton during the pre-season test sessions together with Bryan Bozzi. Is an engineer coming from McLaren? A compromise solution while awaiting the arrival of a figure who should arrive at Ferrari from McLaren precisely to carry out the role of Hamilton’s track engineer. Which would therefore deny the most natural and logical choice, which had been talked about in recent days, namely the promotion of Luca Diella, the performance engineer of Lewis’ car, who had already worked with Hamilton in Mercedes before following him to the Cavallino, taking up service last July, once the gardening leave period was over. However, this is not the only arrival from other teams either: another Frenchman has also arrived at Fred Vasseur’s court, Guillaume Dezoteux, who until recently was responsible for the performances in Racing Bulls. Will this signing campaign be enough to relaunch Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton’s ambitions and avoid another turnaround?
