In addition to its production and financial performance, the company offers a model that attracts attention on a global scale with the concrete steps it has taken in the fields of environmental responsibility, technological transformation and social impact.
Ford Otosan, which does not limit its sustainable transformation only to its own operations, prioritizes creating a sustainable impact throughout the value chain, which includes the entire stakeholder ecosystem, including its suppliers, dealer network and business partners. By integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance into its company strategy, Ford Otosan leads the ecosystem-wide transformation in line with the climate crisis, global trends and sectoral requirements.

Türkiye’s leading automotive company, Ford Otosan, published its Sustainability Report, covering its activities, investments and progress made in line with its long-term goals in the field of sustainability. The report underlines Ford Otosan’s belief that in today’s world, not only achieving economic success but also adding value to society, the environment and employees are among the basic criteria that define a company’s success. The main theme of the report, which details Ford Otosan’s comprehensive and strategic road map focused on sustainability, is Ford Otosan’s vision of leading its sector and being the driving force of transformation in its ecosystem, which places its understanding of responsibility at the center of its company strategies.
Mega leads the transformation with AI and electrical energy from 100% renewable sources
Seeing the fight against the climate crisis as an operational necessity, Ford Otosan is taking firm steps towards its 2050 net zero target. The company’s emission reduction targets were approved by the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) in 2025 and registered with international standards.
Renewable energy transformation is supported by solar energy investments established in the field. A strong start was made in the energy transformation journey with the 10 MW capacity commissioned last year. With the new capacity of 6.1 MW implemented in Hasandede and Çiçektepe in 2025; A total installed capacity of 16.1 MW was reached. With the rooftop Solar Power Plant project implemented at Sancaktepe R&D Center in 2025, energy production was also moved to the R&D infrastructure, so a certain part of the equity electricity consumption will be met from here. With the 2,897 kWe capacity rooftop solar power plant and photovoltaic glass wall application commissioned in the Yeniköy factory, energy production was directly integrated into the production processes. In addition, with the rooftop solar energy system installed in the Craiova factory, electricity was produced through 2,753 panels in an area of 12,000 square meters.
In energy management, Ford Otosan established a structure that integrates production data with energy management with the “AI Powered Energy Management (APEM)” system, one of the artificial intelligence-based MEGA AI projects. The Artificial Intelligence Supported Energy Management project is among the prominent digital transformation projects within the scope of WEF Global Lighthouse Network (World Economic Forum).
took it. This system instantly optimizes energy consumption by analyzing data from production lines, identifies areas of inefficiency and provides data-based input to operational decision processes. Thus, energy management turns from a monitoring-based structure into a system that learns and improves itself.
Sustainability in products and production: life cycle approach
On the product side, the sustainability approach is integrated into the design processes. Ford Otosan implemented life cycle analysis on 97% of its products and established a system that evaluates the environmental impacts of products from production to use and post-use processes. These analyzes play a direct determining role in the development processes of the new generation electric models, especially the Ford Transit, Ford Custom and Ford Courier product families.
Circular approach to water management: collaboration between industry and city
Ford Otosan pioneers circular economy practices in the industry with the innovative projects it develops in water management. The Gray Water Supply Project, implemented in cooperation with Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality ISU General Directorate, makes it possible to reuse urban wastewater in production by passing it through advanced treatment processes. Within the scope of this project, treated domestic wastewater will be used as process water in production. It is aimed to save 400,000 tons of clean water annually in the first phase, and 750,000 tons when full capacity is reached. This practice not only increases water efficiency, but also sets a strong example of sustainable collaborations between industry and city infrastructure.
Education investments, professional development and inclusive workforce model
Building its social contribution approach on long-term and permanent projects, Ford Otosan invested a total of 559.9 million TL in donations and social projects in 2025.
In this context, while the renovation of Yaylacık Başiskele Atatürk Secondary School and the construction of an additional building have been completed, the Vehbi Koç Foundation Semahat Arsel Primary School, which is under construction in Kocaeli, aims to strengthen the educational capacity of the region with its 35-classroom structure. With this investment, the number of schools opened by Ford Otosan in the region reaches five.
Ford Otosan does not limit its education investments only to physical infrastructure, but treats vocational education as a critical component of sustainable transformation. The sector-integrated school model, implemented in this direction, offers an innovative education approach where students directly contact the production environment and brings together theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Thanks to this model located in the Yeniköy factory, it is aimed to develop the vocational technical competencies of young people at an early stage and to train a qualified workforce in a sustainable manner.
Projects that strengthen equality of opportunity in the field of social impact
Ford Otosan, a signatory of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact (UN Global Compact) and a member of the UNGC, which places creating social benefit at the center of all its operations in line with the long-term sustainability targets determined with its ‘Future is Now’ vision, passed an important threshold in 2025 with the projects it carried out to strengthen equality of opportunity in society. Ford Otosan has already exceeded the target of reaching 100 thousand women set for 2026 with the ‘My Future Dream’ project, which was initiated with the contributions of the Vehbi Koç Foundation to support the empowerment of women in these areas, and reached a total of 115,079 women and girls. In this context, the rate of female employees in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field in all campuses of the company increased to 29.49%.
Within the scope of the model carried out in cooperation with Ford Otosan, İŞKUR and Tohum Autism Foundation, which aims to make the inclusive working environment a common standard for all its stakeholders, 17 neurodiverse individuals were included in the employment process in Istanbul, Kocaeli and Eskişehir locations. While a total of 498 disabled employees from 22 different disability groups were employed throughout the company, 110 more disabled employees were employed in 2025 alone.
Employee development is considered as one of the basic elements of Ford Otosan’s transformation model. At Ford Otosan, where more than 2.1 million hours of training was provided in 2025, the active participation of employees in the transformation is supported with technical trainings, digital competence programs and inclusive leadership practices.
