Engine running Today is a day full of news at Ferrari. First came from Maranello the announcement of the removal of the Brescia engineer Riccardo Adami from the role of Lewis Hamilton’s race engineer; now the Scuderia’s official social channel has published the video – and above all the audio – of the first fire-up of the new Ferrari 2026 power unit. This is a historic moment in its own way, even more so given the great regulatory revolution that comes into force this season and which also concerns the engines, in which the electrical component will now have an almost identical value to the thermal one. Also present at the start-up of the new PU were team principal Fred Vasseur and the two regular drivers of the red, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. The hope for the entire Ferrari community is that this is the start of a season that is decidedly fuller of satisfactions and successes than the last one, which the Cavallino ended without winning any GPs and even in fourth place in the Constructors’ classification. Today, among other things, the Ferrari power unit also physically took to the track for the first time, albeit very far from Maranello. In fact, at Silverstone the Cadillac team – powered by Ferrari – put their car on the track for a filming day with a shakedown function, thus allowing the engine built by the women and men in red to clock up its first real kilometres.
Ferrari, here is the roar of the new power unit: fire-up in Maranello under the eyes of Leclerc and Hamilton
