F1 Bahrain test, the afternoon of day-1 from 1.00pm to 5.00pm 12.50pm – Before starting with the actual news, here is a nice photo gallery of the first images taken this morning in Sakhir. 12.45pm – There will be another 4 hours of testing starting from 1.00pm Italian time and ending at 5.00pm. The Formula 1 lunch break will end in exactly 15 minutes. 12.30 – Good afternoon dear readers of FormulaPassion.it! We are live to tell you about the four afternoon hours of the first of six days of F1 testing in Bahrain. In the morning session the fastest was Max Verstappen with a time of 1:35.433, a tenth and a half ahead of Oscar Piastri’s McLaren and just under seven tenths over George Russell in a Mercedes. For Ferrari, which is already surprising with some interesting solutions at the rear, there is Lewis Hamilton’s fourth fastest time, exactly one second off the top. In general, however, we are witnessing the confirmation of what was seen in the shakedown at the end of January, with the cars already capable of covering many kilometers with relatively few problems: the busiest is Sainz with 77 laps, then Lindblad (75) and Verstappen (65), while Colapinto lapped the least of all with only 28 laps, which is still a decent haul for a first morning of testing. Unlike what we saw in Barcelona, the Bahrain tests take place behind open doors, with independent journalists regularly present in the press room and with a television signal, although official live coverage will be guaranteed by Formula 1 from 4pm to 5pm, in the last hour of each day of testing. The traffic lights at the end of the pit lane will turn green in about half an hour, with our live broadcast starting at 12.45pm.
