OSD was elected to the International Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers – OICA Council!
The Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), the umbrella organization of the Turkish automotive industry, was elected as a Council Member of the International Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers – OICA, the highest organization of the global automotive industry. This important development, in which OSD will be represented by Secretary General Özlem Güçlüer at the OICA Council, will further increase Türkiye’s representation power in global automotive platforms and strengthen OSD’s effectiveness in the international arena.
The Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), which is the umbrella organization of the sector with its 13 members guiding the Turkish automotive industry, was elected as the Council Member for the 2026-2028 period at the 2025 General Assembly of the International Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers – OICA. OICA, the top organization representing the global automotive industry in the fields of mobility, environment, safety and economy, plays a critical role especially in determining technical regulations and shaping future mobility policies. Founded in 1919 and comprising 36 national automotive associations from 5 continents, OICA is a strategic federation that is at the center of the transformation process of the sector. The Council, which is the highest decision-making body of OICA, of which OSD has been a member since 1995, has a decisive position in directing the global automotive ecosystem.
Council membership, with Secretary General Özlem Güçlüer representing OSD, will contribute to the more effective representation of the Turkish automotive industry in European and worldwide technical regulation processes and will play a supporting role in the strong position of Türkiye, which ranks 13th in the global automotive production ranking, in the global arena. OSD’s participation in the OICA Council will also contribute to the stronger expression of Türkiye’s automotive industry competence before global policy makers, and will offer a strategic opportunity for the future of the Turkish automotive industry in this period when global competition is rapidly being redefined, technology is transforming and new standards are being established.
