Eden Motor Group has strengthened its partnership with Mazda by acquiring the Newbury franchise from MotorLux, bringing its total representation of the brand to four sites across the UK. The Newbury dealership has been relocated to a dedicated showroom alongside Eden’s Vauxhall dealership and opened to customers on 3 February.
The dealer group already represents Mazda in Basingstoke, Reading, and Taunton, reinforcing its strong presence in the Thames Valley.
Graeme Potts, CEO of Eden Motor Group, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term growth strategy. “This purchase enables us to scale our presence in the Thames Valley with Mazda, a brand we have represented since 2013. Our Fit for the Future strategic plan is to dual franchise wherever we can, enabling us to drive more sales and aftersales through our physical locations. As a highly valued growth partner, Mazda is a perfect fit for this approach.”

Potts highlighted the performance of Eden’s existing Mazda dealerships, citing strong sales driven by desirable products, loyal customers, conquest sales, and local fleet opportunities. “We also appreciate Mazda’s partnership approach to doing business, so this acquisition presented an unmissable opportunity to grow our representation with the brand,” he added.
Jeremy Thomson, managing director of Mazda Motors UK, welcomed the expansion of Eden’s Mazda operations. “We’re delighted to expand our long-standing partnership with Eden Motor Group. This acquisition will generate incremental sales and aftersales in its Thames Valley heartland. Eden’s strategic commitment to grow with Mazda follows a positive 2025 for the brand, with sales up 1.5% to 31,443 units, outperforming many of our competitors.”
Mazda expects further growth in 2026, with a strong order bank ahead of the March plate-change and three new car launches scheduled for the second half of the year: the Mazda CX-5, Mazda 6e, and Mazda CX-6e – the most launches the brand has ever scheduled in a single year.
Currently operating a 116-strong network, Mazda continues to expand its representation with both existing and new partners, with another new showroom set to be announced shortly.
