The 1000 Miglia winter regularity race returns from 12 to 16 March with a 930-kilometre route across the borders of Italy, Switzerland and Austria. After last year’s edition, flanked by the ambitious The Great Alpine Journey project supporting the communities in the eponymous macro-region, the sporting side returns with the Coppa delle Alpi, opening event of the ACI Sport 2025 Italian Major Events Championship.
The technical and administrative checks will take place in Brescia, the Città della 1000 Miglia, on Wednesday afternoon, 12 March. This will be followed at 5 pm by a novelty of the 2025 edition, the Città di Brescia Trophy: a 1 vs 1 knockout challenge much appreciated in other Red Arrow events, in the streets of the city centre.
On Thursday 13, after the start, the crews will reach Val Camonica and stop in Tirano for lunch. In the afternoon, the cars will drive up the Valtellina towards the locations of the next Olympic Games, namely Bormio and then Livigno, which will welcome the crews in the centre for a Time Control and a refreshment break.
Through the Munt la Schera tunnel, the event will enter Switzerland and continue to St. Moritz for the first leg finish. On Friday 14, it will be Val Müstair with a trial session in the surroundings of the Monastero di San Giovanni, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Back in Italy via the Resia Pass, the convoy will arrive in Austria. The small town of Stams will host lunch, after which the cars will drive down to Innsbruck and return to Italy via the Brenner Pass to finish the leg in Brixen. The last day of the race will feature the Gardena and Pordoi Passes and lunch in Baselga di Pinè.
The final finish line will await the crews on the Tonale Pass. After the arrival, there will also be space for a fun driving experience on the snow inside the Pista Ghiaccio Val di Sole, with trials valid for the awarding of the Ponte di Legno Trophy.
The prize-giving ceremony will take place in the splendid setting of the Presena Glacier. 7 guarantees of admission to the 1000 Miglia 2026 will be up for grabs.
Entries are open until 4 p.m. on 7 February 2025.
