Continental introduced its new generation tire, Conti Coach HA 5, for the long-distance and intercity bus segment. Lower fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, longer life and superior safety in all conditions come together.

HA 5, the first model of the Conti Coach 5th generation series developed for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, stands out with its high mileage performance, best-in-class rolling resistance and a structure that provides safe driving in all weather conditions. Offered in both standard and smart tire versions equipped with sensor technology, Conti Coach HA 5 offers fleets the opportunity to reduce fuel consumption, reduce CO₂ emissions and maximize tire life.

Continental Truck Tires EMEA Product Development Manager Hinnerk Kaiser, in his evaluation of the new product, said, “Conti Coach HA 5 is the most advanced bus tire we have developed to date. Thanks to its new generation tread compound and optimized carcass structure, it offers reliable performance regardless of weather conditions. Compared to the previous model, it provides 20 percent higher mileage, 10 percent lower rolling resistance and high grip from the first kilometer to the last kilometer. This enables fleets to travel longer and consume less fuel.” “It means that it consumes less energy and produces lower CO₂ emissions,” he said.

Stating that bus and intercity transportation has gone through a significant transformation with fluctuations in energy costs, tightening environmental regulations and increasing comfort expectations, Continental designed the Conti Coach HA 5 to respond to these needs. The advanced tread compound prolongs the service life of the tire by providing superior wear resistance under high load and different road conditions. This durability offers fleets operational efficiency and cost advantages.

Developed with a focus on energy saving and sustainability, the tire provides the best rolling resistance in its class thanks to its optimized carcass structure and special tread compound formulation. Offering Class B performance in both fuel efficiency and wet grip on the EU tire label, Conti Coach HA 5 brings together low energy consumption and safety in a balanced way. The pattern structure and special channel design developed for safe driving in all weather conditions provide high grip on wet surfaces, offering passengers a comfortable and safe journey.

Real-Time Fleet Management with Smart Sensor Technology

Conti Coach HA 5 also provides fleets with the advantage of digital tracking and real-time management with its smart tire version with integrated sensor technology. Thanks to this feature, tire pressure and temperature can be constantly monitored, maintenance intervals are optimized and unexpected repair times are reduced. Thus, while the total operating cost decreases, the operational efficiency of fleets increases. “Our goal is to offer fleets a solution that provides advantages in terms of both cost and sustainability. Conti Coach HA 5 provides fuel and emission savings, while also reducing resource consumption thanks to its durability and retreadable structure,” Kaiser said.

Conti Coach HA 5 is available for sale in both the original equipment and aftermarket in the EMEA region. The new product, which provides year-round high performance, lower operating costs and environmental advantages to long-distance and intercity bus fleets, strengthens Continental’s commitment to smart, sustainable and safe mobility solutions. The tire is offered in size 295/80 R 22.5. While sensors come as standard in original equipment, they can be supplied on request for the aftermarket.
