Cadillac’s adventure begins In the Italian night, with a spectacular television commercial aired during the Super Bowl, Cadillac unveiled its single-seater for this debut season in Formula 1. The American team enters as the 11th team in the race, bringing the Circus grid back to 22 cars for the first time in a decade. Curiosity concerns what will be the performance of the newborn team supported by the giant General Motors, which – as Sergio Perez explained – has the ambition of avoiding last place in the standings in this debut year. Valtteri the wise On the sidelines of the team presentation event, the team’s other veteran driver, the Finnish Valtteri Bottas, also spoke. Twice vice-world champion at the time of Mercedes, the 36-year-old from Nastola took on the role of the ‘wise man’, underlining to Reuters how the important thing for the team is the ability to grow and improve over the course of the championship. “I’m prepared for the fact that it could be a difficult start – admitted the Finn – And I don’t mind if we don’t start the season on a great note. Obviously I would prefer it, but if that’s not the case, never mind. It’s not so much where we start from, but where we get to together. And this is the motivation”. Regarding the presentation-show, in true USA style, Bottas was not surprised: “It was more or less what I expected – he commented – from the beginning I knew that the team would focus everything on this project. And obviously we are trying to reach new fans. They always said from the beginning that they would focus big on everything”.
