Speaking at the ‘Joint Journey to the Sustainable Future’ panel of the 9th Istanbul Economy Summit, Borusan Otomotiv Chief Executive Officer Hakan Tiftik emphasized that the automotive industry is experiencing the biggest transformation in its history and that Borusan Automotive Group has taken a leading role in Türkiye in the field of electrification.

Speaking at the ‘Joint Journey to a Sustainable Future’ panel Borusan Otomotiv Chief Executive Officer Hakan Tiftikstated that the automotive industry is experiencing its biggest transformation so far and said, “Electric, connected, autonomous and shared vehicles are no longer just a trend; they are the main elements that define the new mobility order. This year, electric vehicles are expected to have a share of approximately 18 percent in the total market in Türkiye. This corresponds to a volume of approximately 200 thousand units. We have observed a strong growth in this field in the sector in a short time.” Mohair, “As Borusan Automotive Group, we set a goal to lead the electrification transformation of the automotive industry in Türkiye in 2019. He also stated that the Neue Klasse concept, which symbolizes the beginning of a new era at BMW and represents the BMW Group’s transition to a new era in the field of individual mobility, is the most concrete example of this transformation. Borusan Otomotiv Chief Executive Officer Hakan Tiftik said, “Neue Klasse is not just a new vehicle platform, it is a technology ecosystem that offers a carbon footprint reduction of up to 34 percent after long-term use compared to the previous generation. Electrification, software and data-driven vehicle architecture, artificial intelligence-supported driving experience and intensive use of recycled materials integrate sustainability with technology. “Each of our models that will represent this platform will reveal the future of sustainable mobility,” he said.
