Ferrari runs in Barcelona After the 56 covered in the afternoon of the second day of shakedown testing in Barcelona, Lewis Hamilton returned to the wheel of the Ferrari SF-26 on the morning of day 4 to log a good few more kilometers with the aim of finding the driving feeling with the new Red and above all to verify the correct functioning of the entire package. A process of discovery and knowledge that is natural to encounter some small hiccups – despite, however, the great serenity of the Mercedes rivals, who admit that they are further ahead than the initially planned program – with the seven-time world champion who was the protagonist of a small and harmless spin. The video of Lewis Hamilton’s spin Reporting the information – decidedly valuable in a test session which, as is known, takes place behind closed doors at the behest of the Formula 1 teams – is the Spanish creator FormulaNacho, who is perched on the hills around the Montmeló track and who was lucky enough to capture Lewis Hamilton’s crash in a video. In fact, the Ferrari driver appears to be proceeding at very low speed before briefly losing control of his SF-26 while accelerating after the hairpin at turn 10, called La Caixa. According to what the author of the video reported, it was Hamilton’s first lap of the day. The error was probably triggered by the very low temperature of the asphalt and the tires not yet able to guarantee maximum grip due to the cold. The Ferrari champion then continued without difficulty or particular problems after a slight smoke from his Pirellis, but risked contact with the Mercedes that was coming immediately behind him. For Lewis Hamilton this was the first day with a dry track, given that in the afternoon of day 2 he had run on grooved tires due to the rain, closing the best time in 1:32.872.
